Jim Kohlenberger is a technology and innovation policy strategist at the forefront of national technology policy efforts to harness innovation to improve people’s lives, extend opportunities to more Americans, and harness technological transformation to solve critical societal challenges. He has served in both the Clinton and Obama White House and in the U.S. Senate. In the Obama White House he served as Chief of Staff for the Office of Science and Technology Policy where he helped the administration drive a transformative technology agenda, created the new position of Chief Technology Officer, put our nation’s space program on a bolder trajectory, advised the President’s national cybersecurity review, advanced critical broadband investments, helped initiate the President’s wireless spectrum initiative, helped develop the government’s open data initiative, worked to restore scientific integrity, and advanced historic investments in innovation. He also served 8 years in the Clinton White House as a Senior Domestic Policy Advisor where he helped formulate U.S. policy on game-changing and innovation focused policy initiatives including initiatives in the areas of equity, technology, science, telecommunications, space, and the Internet.
